CPL is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting independence among disabled individuals and increasing their quality of life through a unique pairing of canines and humans. Canine Partners for Life is one of a few service organizations that will place a dog with a child under the age of 18 and is one of only five organizations in the world that place seizure alert dogs. Our recipients come from all walks of life and have a wide variety of physical disabilities including muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, seizure disorders and more. The one thing they all have in common is a drive to become more independent and a commitment to do what is necessary to have an assistance dog as their partner. Each dog is trained to meet the specific needs of individual recipients. Canine Partners for Life strives to change our recipients' lives by opening up a whole new world where they are self-sufficient and can obtain personal achievement. At CPL, our training represents a creative and innovative approach to meet the needs of disabled individuals, their families, their caretakers, their friends and the community at large.
